Thoughts: While the story was new, the gameplay wasn't. The guns all looked different, but performed the same as in other FPS games. You character is equiped with the generic FPS weapons: a shotgun, rocket launcher, grenades, a railgun, etc. The action is normally quick paced, however the AI isn't amazing. When playing missions against computer-controlled enemies, their movements are easy to predict and account for. I was not able to test the multiplayer capability, however I assume it would be much like Unreal Tournament. Most of the gameplay reminds me of Unreal. The enemies look different, the graphics engine has changed, but it still feels the same. I'm not so sure that it was the safest idea, but the aliens looked vicious! Quote: A bright glowing orb. Be careful not to get too distracted because enemies are on their way. Rating on a scale of 1 (absolutely awful) to 10 (jaw-dropping) Gameplay: 7/10 - While the gameplay was decent, it lost a point for being very similar to other games. Graphics 7/10 - The graphics were pretty good, they were making my TI4200 work pretty hard, and it showed. In larger battles I noticed low framerates, however when fighting just a few enemies my TI4200 did it's job nicely. Sound 8/10 - The sound was decent. It didn't seem to stand out at any points (good and bad). The fact that I wasn't aware that the sound was there meant it blended in and served it's purpose. Replay Value 7/10 - The demo offers 2 multiplayer maps. The full game will obviously have more. Replay value is also increased by multiplayer, as no game will be the same as another. Overall 7.25/10 - Although it brings nothing groundbreaking to the table, for those of you who enjoy first person shooters, it might be worth your time to download.
