The website is run by a film school student, Kyle, and a few of his friends who have worked together to create a show with the same name, Pure Pwnage. Pure Pwnage is a show about Jeremy, a self-proclaimed professional gamer and professional gaming culture. Currently there are six completed episodes, all of which are available for download at PurePwnage.com. The shows contain numerous references to popular games and movies such as World of Warcraft, Command and Conquer, Counter-Strike, and Kill Bill. After watching a few episodes of the show and laughing myself to tears, I sent Kyle and Jeremy an email to find out more about the show, and to hear what they had to say. >AI: Can you give the audience some background information on Pure Pwnage? >Kyle: Well, its a show about pro gaming, and pro gamers... I basically follow around Jeremy with the camera and people get to see what is going on in his life. I think the most talented gamers in the world can all relate to what Jeremy has to say. >Jeremy: its a show about how much i pwn basicly -- >AI: Where did you get the idea for your show? How did it all get started? >Kyle: I wanted to get some test footage for my camera and I wanted to test out my new editing software, so I filmed Jeremy talking about Command and Conquer zero hour. I edited that footage into a preview for a show, and lots of people emailed us saying they wanted to see the show and wanted to know when it was coming out. So we started making episodes, and here we are.. at episode 6. >Jeremy: 1 day im liek 'hey kyle y dont u stop filmin ghey stuf like that leaf falling n mebbe u could actualy b less n00b' n hes all like 'im a total n00b so i dunno what 2 film so pls help me jeremy' so im liek 'just film me then omg.. i pwn so much peeps will totaly watch it n it will b big n well b famose' n i wuz rite liek i always am lol -- >AI: How many people work on your show? >Kyle: Just me, Dave, Jeremy.. pretty much the people you see in the show. >Jeremy: n i guess doug 2 lol -- >AI: How long would you say it takes to produce each episode? >Kyle: It takes a long time to edit and to record music.. especially when I'm in school. so I suppose we release an episode about once every two months. Hopefully this summer we can release episodes more frequently than that. >Jeremy: about 30 mins i think.. i dunno waht kyle does after he films how much i pwn -- >AI: When do you plan to release the next episode? >Kyle: Probably mid-june -- >AI: Can you give us any hints about what will happen in the next episode? >Kyle: Nope, you will have to see.. !!! Jeremy: i pwn sum n00bs lol -- >AI: How long do you plan to keep producing Pure Pwnage episodes? >Kyle: Well, when I finish school I would like to make Pure Pwnage full time..I think there is a lot of stuff to explore in the world of internet gaming, we've got years of work to do. >Jeremy: ill b pwnin n00bs til im liek 80 omfg lol.. so if kyle wants 2 film me i gues ill b in a show [page] >AI: Are any of the Pure Pwnage staff married or have significant others? >Kyle: no one is married, I think Jeremy has a sort-of girlfriend now.. >Jeremy: i culd have liek 12 gfs but i only have liek kinda 1 rite now cuz im 2 busy pwnin n00bs not cuz they dont all want me tho lol -- >AI: Jeremy, what games do you pwn most? >Jeremy: 2 hard 2 say.. i pwn so much.. its liek.. is infinity + 1 bigger tahn infinity?.. y'know? -- >AI: Kyle, how many A's have you received in film school for Pure Pwnage? >Kyle: Lots of people watch the show around school, but there are still many that don't know about it. My teachers don't really know about the show, its not like we get assignments that are like: "Make a show about pro gaming and internet culture". I'm doing pretty well in school, its definitely what I want to do with my life (make movies). Hopefully Pure Pwnage will get me a job one day working on a feature film. -- >AI: The Pwnerer, how much do you pwn? >Jeremy: i asked mirco once if how much i pwn culd b mesured n he was liek 'no lol' so i guess i just pwn 2 much -- >AI: What would go on your list of the 5 best games of all time, Jeremy/Kyle/Pwnerer/Others? >Kyle: Command and Conquer series (R.I.P.), Civilization series, Star control 2, Master of Orion 2, Half Life 2, are the ones that come immediately to mind. >Jeremy: omg thats a tuff q.. i wuz pwnin when i wuz liek 3 on my atari.. theres been liek so many games that have pwned so much 4 so many ressons that its liek imposible 2 say 4 sure top 5.. but if i gotta pick 5 rite now ill pick - c&c series (PC), f-zero (SNES), zelda: ocarina of time (best 1p game ever)(N64), street fighter 2 (Arcade) & chess (u sed games not just pc games lol) -- >AI: Jeremy, Pwnerer, what advice do you have for gamers that want to be pro? >Jeremy: ignore ur parents wen they say 'its 4 kids' cuz thats bs.. its no more 4 kids than playin n e other game.. chess or football.. just keep trainin n focusin on ur micro n beleive that u can b pr0.. its a lot of hard work but if u <3 somethin it shuld b easy 2 do rite.. we r the next gen of athl33ts but most peeps r 2 n00b 2 c it yet.. not 4 long tho -- >AI: Kyle, have any advice for people interested in attending film school? >Kyle: If you think making movies is fun and you have a story to tell, grab a camera and go ahead and film it. Digital technology is cheap now and you can make a decent movie with your home computer and a consumer miniDv camera. Watch a LOT of movies and pay close attention to the shots/editing... watch them as a director and you'll pick up on the grammar of film editing/directing.
