Bourne Supremacy
Cast: Matt Damon, Karl Urban, Joan Allen
Genre: Thriller/Adventure
Rating: 9/10

Warning: If you suffer from easy nausea, or get annoyed very easily when the camera moves a lot, you will definitely want to skip this movie.

A few days ago Kaizer Souza and I saw the Bourne Supremacy in theaters, and let me tell you folks it is a great movie. However, one of the main reasons it didn’t receive a perfect 10 was because it was shot primarily with a hand held camera. At first the hand held camera feels like it adds to the movie experience, but after the first hour or so it gets old.

The Bourne Supremacy picks up exactly where the Bourne Identity left off, well almost exactly. Bourne (Damon) and his girlfriend have moved to Goa, India, and have bought the most beautiful beachside house. Even the molding and paint job are incredible….okay never mind. Also, Bourne's old agency, the CIA, seems to have forgotten the past and has moved on to other projects. Meanwhile evil forces are at work. An evil oil-tycoon has hired a killer named Kirill (Urban) to hunt Bourne and kill him. Once in Goa though, Kirill messes up and accidentally kill’s Bourne’s girlfriend. Afterwards, Kirill leaves for Berlin and foils a top secret CIA operation, while leaving behind clues that will implicate Bourne. (Oh those silly bad-guys and their fool-proof plans.) Bourne, believing that the agency is out kill him goes in search of the group who he thinks is responsible for killing his girlfriend. At the same time the CIA searches for Bourne, whom they think killed 2 of their men. What follows is an intricate and very well presented story line, complete with one of the most exciting car chases I have seen in a while that rivals the car chases in the French Connection and the Matrix Reloaded.

The Bourne Supremacy is a great movie, even if the camera work could have been better. This is definitely not a good movie to bring the kids along to see. Some of the fighting scenes are brutal since it moves so much it suggests even more violent scenes than are actually visable, leaving much of what is going on to the viewers imagination. Also, some blood is shown throughout the movie which contributes to its justified PG-13 rating.

The story line is very intricate and every scene is a white-knuckle. This movie stays very true to the original Bourne Identity and I am looking forward to the last installment. In the words of Kaizer “Well see the camera moves so much that you know stuff is going on, you just don’t exactly know what is going on.” They are wise words and true words indeed, but for all of you that aren’t discouraged by the hand camera, go see the Bourne Supremacy.

solid review man
that camera work was annoying

but it did show just how fast things happend, such as the interogation scene where he knocks both of the guards in maybe 1 or 2 sec.
