I, Robot
Cast: Will Smith, Bridget Moynahan, Alan Tudyk, James Cromwell
Genre: Action/Adventure
Rating: 7/10

Warning: If you are afraid of heights, tall buildings, or get very dizzy very easily when watching a movie, use caution when watching "I, Robot". But by no means skip the movie. Just like Spiderman, this movie will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Also, if you have the read the book, "I, Robot" by Isaac Asimov, the only similarities between the movie and the book is the name of the movie and the name of the doctor/psychiatrist Susan Calvin.

The movie starts in the year 2030, Chicago. A lot of progress has been made since our current time. If you listen carefully to the advertisements in the background, they are talking about visiting Jupiter and Saturn. We also meet Detective Del Spooner, a middle aged, converse-sporting detective, who is terribly paranoid of Robots. He doesn’t believe in the 3 laws safe philosophy, which everyone feels will keep them out of harms way. Spooner spends much of his time trying to find something wrong with the robots. When his friend Dr. Alfred Lanning (Cromwell) dies, Spooner’s first suspect is the robot that was found inside of Lanning’s laboratory. With the help of Doctor Susan Calvin (Moynahan) he has to track down the robot and discover why it was hiding in the room of Doctor Lanning.

This movie is a very thrilling, don’t-know-what-is-going-to-happen-next kind of movie, but it's a bit straightforward at times which is the reason that it did not receive a higher rating. A scene I know everyone is looking forward to is the one with in which countless robots pounce on top of Spooner’s car; you will not be disappointed. Luckily this is not the only action filled scene, there are some even more exciting ones scattered throughout the whole movie.

The plot is not terribly complex and the action scenes aren’t too intense so be sure to bring the kids because they will have the ride of the summer. Parents will also enjoy the movie since there aren't any un-necessary sex scenes, rap music, or excessive violence.

All in all "I, Robot" is a fun movie, with a lot of action, and solid special effects. Don’t worry about the nudity part that is mentioned in the rating as it is only 5 seconds long and its only Will Smith in the shower with everything is conveniently covered up.

I would also recommend seeing "The Second Renaissance Parts 1 & 2" before seeing "I, Robot". It’s the story of how the Matrix was created and it shows the darker side of robot revolution we don’t get in "I, Robot" (not a good movie for young children).

An almost entirely unrelated novel, but still a solid read.

Wow, I very much like the co-writing idea! It can be very helpful to get two different perspectives on the same subject all wrapped into a single review. Good idea guys! I hope you enjoy writing it.
